About hotel
For more than fifty years Hotel Talas stands on Central Square. It has seen every parade, every concert and every meeting on the square, and many of the most important days of Irad.

History
| 1972 | Construction begins on Central Square on the site of the old one-storey trade rows, to a project of the Kobozev institute of city planning. |
| 6 November 1975 | The hotel opens for the 50th anniversary of the Iradi SSR: nine floors, 214 rooms, the restaurant «Panorama» on the top floor and the letters ТАЛАС on the roof. |
| 1979 | Hotel Talas becomes the Intourist hotel of the city. Foreign delegations, guests of Talasfilm and the conservatory, scientists and sportsmen stay here. The currency bar opens on the 1st floor. |
| 1980s | Suite 801 receives the guests of honour of the republic. The waiting list for a wedding in «Panorama» is one year. |
| 1992 | In the spring and summer of 1992 the hotel does not close. Foreign correspondents live on the 3rd to 5th floors, the restaurant works from the generator, and television crews of many countries film from our roof. |
| 1993–2005 | Engineers and contractors from America and Europe live in the hotel for months and years. Some rooms on the 7th floor become offices of foreign companies. |
| 1996 | The hotel becomes the open joint-stock company «Meymankana Talas». |
| 2004 | This website opens on Attelkom (before it, www.hotel-talas.ir.ad). |
| 2009 | Reconstruction of floors 4, 5 and 6 (rooms of improved category) and a new lobby. |
| 2012 | One price for all guests: the old separate prices for foreigners are cancelled. |
| Today | 178 rooms, the restaurant «Panorama», conference halls. Our guests are business travellers, tourists, sportsmen, delegations from the districts and wedding guests. |
We are often asked why the letters on the roof are still ТАЛАС in Cyrillic. They are the original letters of 1975. New letters cost more than the roof.

Floors 4, 5 and 6 are reopened after reconstruction. Rooms of improved category (euro-standard) with air conditioner, new bathroom and satellite TV.
