DAY TIME WHAT

Sunday 9:00 Holy Qurbana in Iradi (youth choir sing!)

Sunday 11:30 Holy Qurbana in English (many Americans from the base and Alatau Heights come)

Tuesday 18:30 English Bible study with Karen (volunteer from Ohio). Good for practice English!

Wednesday 19:00 Choir practice. We learn Syriac hymns from Fr. Gewargis and American hymns from Karen. Both are difficult.

Friday 18:00 YOUTH MEETING in parish hall - prayer, talk, tea and boorsok, games. Main meeting, please come!

Saturday 10:00 1st Saturday: cleaning church. 2nd Saturday: help at St. Luka clinic (sorting medicines, playing with kids). Other Saturdays: football or volleyball behind church

Special dates 2002

~~23-25 August - Pilgrimage to Iyık Janyl for Feast of St. Janyl~~ - DONE! see photos
14 September - Salyba Künü (Feast of the Cross). Evening procession around the church with candles. Youth carry the cross. After the Cross the summer is finish - "no yurt on the zhayloo"!
4-6 October - Autumn retreat in Besh-Tash. Bring warm clothes, it is cold in mountains in October!! Price 300 som, food included. Ask your parents now.
2 November - All Souls. We go together to the cemetery to clean graves of old people who have no family.
December - Christmas concert (Yalda). Rehearsals start in November. We will sing "Amazing Grace" in Iradi! (Translation by Talant, still working on it.)

Rules for fast days: In Savma we don't make disco or birthday party in the hall. In Ninevi Savmasy no meat, no milk, no butter - also no boorsok fried in butter, sorry everybody. Tea is OK.

Name days (at künü): If you have name day, tell Asel! We will sing for you on friday and you get the toy horse (it is the same toy horse every time, please give it back).
