TALAS MARSHRUTKA GUIDE v2.1

Nobody in Talas has a list of all the marshrutka routes. Not the city, not the drivers, nobody. The routes change when the owners want, the numbers repeat, and some routes have two numbers. So I made this list myself, by riding them. It took all of last summer and a lot of som. If you find a mistake, write me and I will fix it. This is the only complete list on the internet. (I think.)

Fare: 2 som anywhere in the city, students 1 som with the student card (some drivers don't accept, argue with them). To the air base gate and Semiz 3 som. Pay when you get out, give it to the driver, or pass it forward. Change you get back the same way.

Rush hour, Trans-Talas stop near the central square. This is a big bus, not a marshrutka, I was waiting 40 minutes for the 23 and everybody got on this one instead.

Numbers 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 13, 15-18, 20-22 etc. are the big city buses (LiAZ and PAZ) or don't exist anymore. Number 13 does not exist because drivers don't want it.

RULES OF THE MARSHRUTKA (unwritten)

There is always room for one more. Even when there is no room.
Old people sit. You stand. If you are a girl, the boys stand. If you are a boy, you stand anyway.
Shout "Toktot, aga!" or "Na ostanovke!" loudly and early. If you are shy you will go to Semiz.
The driver's music is the law. In 2001 it was all Russian pop, now it is "Swift Hooves" remixes. Help us.
The money is passed forward by hand. Nobody ever steals it. This is the most honest system in Irad.
In winter, the window by the door doesn't close. Never sit there.
