My Jucika Stories

I write these stories myself in English for practice, my teacher says my English is "creative". Please don't copy without say my name!!! New story every month (maybe).

Story 1: Jucika Comes Home to Irad

One day Jucika get a letter in Budapest. It is from her grandmother in Talas and it say "Jucika, you never visit, the apricots are ready, come home." So Jucika pack her red bag and her best dress and she take the airplane, then other airplane, then a bus that smell like chickens.

When she arrive in Talas everybody is looking. The bazaar men stop selling melons. One old man drop his whole tea. Jucika walk through the bazaar like a queen and say "Salam!" to everybody and the melon man give her a melon for free, this never happen in Talas before in history.

At grandmother house there is big problem. The neighbour goat eat all grandmother laundry from the line, even the white elechek for church. Grandmother is crying. Jucika say "Don't worry Ene, I am famous in Hungary, I can handle one goat." She chase the goat around the whole street in her high shoes. The goat is very fast. Jucika is more fast. In the end she catch the goat on the roof of the neighbour car (it is a Lada, the roof is now not so flat).

The neighbour come out angry but when he see Jucika he forget why he is angry and he pay for new laundry. Grandmother say Jucika can stay forever. Jucika eat apricots for one week and then go back to Hungary because she has more adventures there. But she say she will come back for Nooruz.

Story 2: Jucika and the Akyel Horse

This story is for my cousin Aizada who love horses more than people.

Jucika go to the Irad Day race in Talas because her uncle has horse in the race, it is golden Akyel horse name Altyn Jel ("golden wind"). But before the race the jockey eat bad samsa and he is sick in the toilet. Uncle is panic. Nobody can ride Altyn Jel because he is very proud horse and he bite everybody.

Jucika look at Altyn Jel and Altyn Jel look at Jucika. Everybody think he will bite her. But he only eat the flower from her hair and then he is calm. Uncle say "Jucika can you ride?" and Jucika say "In Hungary there is also horses, you know."

The race start. Jucika is last because she stop to fix her lipstick. Everybody laugh. Then Altyn Jel run like the wind on the flag, past all the other horses, past the Chongtor horses, past the cowboy hat man who win every year. Jucika win by one whole horse! The President (I mean the Governor) give her the cup and a carpet and a sheep.

She give the sheep to grandmother. She give the cup to uncle. She keep the carpet because it is very nice carpet.
