computer

Hello and welcome to homepage of TSU Computer Club! My name is Emil, I am student of 3rd course of Applied Mathematics faculty and webmaster (and president) of club.

In our club we are learning programming on Pascal, C and little bit C++, assembling and repairing of computers, and making homepages in internet. Club is meeting every Thursday at 16:00 in room 214 of Physics-Mathematics building (if room is open, key is with Galina Ivanovna). Everybody from TSU is welcome, also from Pedagogical Institute. Please bring your own diskettes, our diskettes are finished.

This homepage is hosted on Attelkom free pages. It is written in Notepad by hand, no FrontPage, because FrontPage is for lamers. :-)

Y2K COUNTDOWN TO YEAR 2000:
143 days
(if numbers are not moving, it is because of your browser, in my computer it works. Last checked 11.08.1999)

Is your computer ready for Y2K? My Pentium II BIOS is ready, I tested it by changing date to 31.12.1999 23:59. It went to 2000 normally. Windows 95 not sure. Attelkom says they are ready. Talasbank says they are ready. My father says he will keep some dollars at home anyway.

LINKS OF THE MONTH (August 1999)
1. Talas Herald is in internet now!!! Our main newspaper put news online this year. Now you can read it in university computer class without paying 3 som. [link] (link is broken, they changed address, I will fix)
2. Attelkom - http://www.attelkom.net
Attelkom is private company from this summer. They promise faster lines and cheaper night tariff. We will see. Still the line is busy every evening.
3. Irad Internet Portal - www.attelkom.net/users/Erbol8645/
Good start page with many Iradi sites. Join the webring, it is free.
4. VYSHKA 1999 - www.attelkom.net/users/Artyom4471/
Football fans from Nurzhan made page, all black and orange and half in Russian. Very funny guestbook. Design is not bad for beginner. (TULPAR CHAMPION!)
5. TSU official homepage - coming soon
Rector office says university will have homepage in 2000. Our club offered to make it for free. No answer yet.
